Privacy Policy — Path & Pillar

Path & Pillar (the “App”) is created by LazyFruit (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you. The App is a contemplative tool: you express an emotional state in your own words, and the App maps it onto a symbolic path. We have designed it to collect as little about you as possible.

In short: the words you write are sent to an AI service only to generate your result. We do not store the content of your reflections on our servers, we do not sell your data, and we do not use your reflections to train AI models.

Information We Handle

What you write

When you ask the App to interpret a feeling or intention, the text you enter is transmitted to an AI provider (Google’s Gemini models, accessed through Firebase AI) so that a path can be generated and returned to you. This text is processed transiently to produce your result. We do not retain the content of your entries on our servers after the result is delivered.

Information collected automatically

To keep the App stable and understand how it is used in aggregate, we and our service providers may collect:

Usage and analytics data — anonymous or pseudonymous events such as which screens are opened and which features are used.
Diagnostic and crash data — technical reports generated when the App encounters an error, including device model, operating-system version, and the state of the App at the time of the crash.
Device and app information — basic technical details such as the App version, build number, and device operating system, sent with network requests.
Integrity signals — anti-abuse checks that confirm requests come from a genuine instance of the App rather than an automated script.

Information stored on your device

Your settings and session data are stored locally on your device. Sensitive values, where present, are kept in the device’s secure storage. This information stays on your device and is removed when you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App.

How We Use Information

To generate and display the path that corresponds to what you have written.
To operate, maintain, and improve the App’s reliability and performance.
To diagnose crashes and fix problems.
To protect the App and our services against abuse and fraud.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

AI Processing

The interpretive features of the App are powered by Google’s Gemini models via Firebase AI. The text you submit is sent to that service to generate a response and is not used by us to build user profiles. Per Google’s terms for these services, your prompts are not used to train Google’s generative models. Your use of these features is also subject to Google’s privacy practices, described below.

Third-Party Services

We rely on Google Firebase to operate the App. Depending on the features you use, these may include Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase App Check, and Firebase AI (Gemini). These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the functions described above. Their handling of data is governed by Google’s privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Data Retention

The content of your reflections is processed transiently and is not retained on our servers after your result is produced. Aggregate analytics and crash diagnostics are retained by our service providers for the limited periods needed to keep the App working and are handled according to their policies. Data held locally on your device persists until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect information in transit and at rest, including encrypted connections and the device’s secure storage for sensitive values. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can address it.

Your Choices and Rights

You have meaningful control over your information:

Access and deletion — because we do not retain the content of your entries, there is generally no stored reflection content for us to return or erase. For any other information you believe we hold, you may request access or deletion by contacting us.
Local data — you can clear the data the App stores on your device at any time through your device settings, or by uninstalling the App.
Analytics and diagnostics — you can limit certain device-level tracking and advertising identifiers through your operating-system privacy settings.

We will respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable time. We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these choices.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated version at this address. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
